There are many definitions of pain, written by doctors, by artists, and by people with pain.
Generally, we recognize two pain groups: pain of the heart/emotions/mind; and physical pain. Supposedly one type can exist without the other, but in fact they usually occur together, intertwined.
The understanding of pain depends upon whether you are an outside observer or are viewing the problem through your own pain. The person in pain has less patience, and more need to get results, - to stop the pain.
Stopping the pain, or at least alleviating the suffering, is
the great mystery. We have to look down many avenues, from
