The Wolf is under attack in B.C. by means of unregulated
hunting, trapping and the government's Compound 1080
poisoning program. Compound 1080 is used over 1/3 of B.C
to kill Timber Wolves and Coyotes. Though the government
claims 1080 is species specific, it is far from that. Every year,
thousands of animals die from either primary or secondary
1080 poisoning. Its victims include eagles, hawks, ravens,
wolverines, bears, and even family pets. Compound 1080 has
been banned in Mexico and the United States, yet B.C. wildlife
officers continue to use it when ranchers complain about
seeing wolves.
