COMMUNITY ACTION
Person to Person

Who we are:

We are an informal network of people from around British Columbia committed to building strong, healthy, inclusive communities built on social justice and equity. We welcome those from farther afield to join us!

Why we meet:

While community is all the talk today, we are skeptical: most of the talkers remain focussed on tinkering with service provision, not on making real change to underlying problems; and they don't adequately recognize the capacity of communities to identify, and find solutions for their own dilemmas. We are committed to fostering healthy public policy and enabling full citizen participation in decision-making.

Our aim:

We want to create an on-line magazine/news alert/ideas exchange for people who believe in, and work for, strengthening communities. We'd like to hear from you: suggestions, 'articles,' newsbites, triumphs, horror-stories--we want them all. And, as activists who must often do our work 'off the side of our desks,' we want to have some fun on the Road to Utopia, so humour is definitely encouraged!

Let's hear from you:

Please send us information to post on our CAPP site and suggestions about how to improve the page are much appreciated.

We think we could improve the quality of the production if we had a six month retreat in the south of France but finances don't allow us to get to the airport! Any ideas?

Thanks for dropping by. Hope to hear from you.
